“My son has been a student of Steve's for a few years now and just loves him! He has grown so much just in the past year in his reading of music, his playing, and his ear for music. Steve gives just the right amount of "work" combined with the introduction of cool songs so it keeps my son interested and ready for more each week. He has picked up on reading the music without even realizing it because Steve keeps it at just the right level and just the right pace. You won't find another who will provide the one-on-one with a genuine interest in his student's progress. Can't say enough about how much we appreciate all he does. Highly recommend him!”

“I took lessons from Steve for close to 2 years. He helped foster a love for guitar in me by focusing on the aspects that I wanted to excel in. Lessons are focused, and I always left with an exercise to work on at home. If we started down a path that I wasn't getting or wasn't interested in, Steve was very good about changing directions. Nothing was forced. On a personal note, Steve is a great family man. I would not hesitate to have my daughters take lessons from him (and probably will when they are ready :))”

“My son and I both took lessons from Steve for a year. He has the great ability to talk on a level that adults and younger kids alike can understand. He took the time when we first started to find out how much we knew and how we wanted to learn. I cannot stress enough how valuable this was to both of us because it didn't take long for me to realize that my son and I had different ideas about what we wanted to learn. Steve not only took the time to seek out this information, but he then custom tailored the lessons to meet our needs and to stretch our level of knowledge. Without him expecting us to achieve more than we thought we could, we would not have been able to grow and get better. That is how great instructors do it. My son is only in the 8th grade and he is trying out for a jazz band later this week. That is about the best review I can tell anyone.”

What I appreciate most about his approach to teaching so far is that he's focused and encouraging, and that he continues to learn and grow as a musician himself. This helps a lot because he is not only teaching but continuing to learn, which means he's more able to put himself in a students shoes and really help them mature as musicians.”
